Final Fantasy 13

Final Fantasy 13 HInts, Tips and Cheats

Gw udah maenin game final fantasy 13, ini adalah tips-tips yang lumayan membantu dalam game finalfantasy 13:

Final Fantasy XIII

The story
In a world of tranquility in the sky, where its habitants knew only peace and paradise, the inhabitants were blessed to have the fal’Cie as their protectors. On the world of Cocoon, all was soon to change once a hostile and evil fal’Cie was discovered.
From the lower world of Pulse, this fal’Cie awoke and evily cursed the human inhabitants of Cocoon, changing them into servants wielding magical powers.
Thus starts the battle….
First impressions
Well as can be expected from Square Enix, the game looks amazing – the graphics are truly stunning and the gameplay looks as solid as ever. While some of the characters names are a little dubious, the attention to detail remains and it’s obvious that the plot will be detailed and mysterious.
As with other FF games the player has the ability to summon allies – these come in the form of Eidolons, and allow the player to perform attacks from the back of special characters increasing damage etc.

I have to admit that I was disappointed with the last FF title as it seemed to lose a lot of its character and perhaps was aimed at a younger audience, however this game definitely seems to have more of an edge to it and from the demos I’ve seen seems to rely on a more traditional FF combat scheme, rather than some of the more recent ‘attempts’ to update the system.
What stands out so far is the quality of graphics that seem to be more than simple cut-shots but are prevalent all through the game – I cannot wait to get my hands on this game and see if my first impressions are right!

Hints, Tips and Cheats

Currently I have not found any cheats for the game, but I am sure some will surface over time; below are some general discussions on levelling up, and some tips on the paradigms and battles. Book mark this page as I will continue to add strategies as I go on!

General Tips

Note I will add more tips as I find them so bookmark this page!
Easy CP
Find the two Behemoth enemies fighting at the Gran Pulse. Once the pre-emptive strike happens:
  • Use Attacker/Enhancer/Enhancer as your Optima setup
  • wait until you get hast and fire elemental offence then switch to Attacker/Blaster/Blaster.
  • Kill the purple one first
  • Go back to the save point and they will respawn
You can get a lot of easy CP this way.

Eidolons

There’s no doubt that one of the most important aspects of Final Fantasy games is the ability to be able to summon very strong ‘monsters’ into your party – each version of FF has done the summoning slightly differently and FF XIIi is no different.
IN FF XIII you gain Eidolons by defeating them in battle – as these battles are part of the script you will not have a problem fighting them – you also cannot gain them early.
Once you have the Eidolon you can summon it in combat using ‘techniques – summon’. This will cost you tactical points though, so in many cases you should really wait for a lull in action before summoning.
Once summoned, you will ‘lose’ the rest of the party. When summoned they have their own version of hit points which depletes over time and is reduced by damage – once this is reduced to zero they disappear. You do not control the Eidolon, but should continue the battle with the summoner as normal.
You can use the Gestalt mode with Eidolons – probably best when their hit points are low – this gives you some very powerful special attacks on the bottom right of the screen – these are good, but I found them a little confusing to use at times.
I’m not quite sure if I like using the Eidolons – it disrupts my party and early on they don’t really add that much to the battle – later on you will probably need them though!

Chrystarium System & Character Leveling

I’m not a big fan of leveling up in any FF game, but the system in FF XIII is one of the better ones.
It’s a fairly linear process, and as you start you’ll only have access to three paradigms (or classes – see below); there are plenty of enemies in the game so you should have no problem get high levels in each paradigm before more become available.
It’s hard to say what the best method is; there are some pretty powerful abilities in the original paradigm but they become more and more expensive to get (using CP) – so it’s a balancing act between gaining low level abilities in the new paradigms, or gaining the high level abilities in the old paradigms. My preference is to ignore the new paradigms and get the best of the old paradigms.
There are plenty of choices in each paradigm, and you can even skip some of the lower abilities and concentrate on one branch to get some high abilities – it really depends on how you play the game and what you want to focus on.
I’d focus on Medic just to get the boost in HP; some of the later enemies are difficult and staying alive can be hard if you don’t have a high HP.

Weapons & Weapon Leveling

Like most FF games there are plenty of weapons to chose from. Strangely you can upgrade and level up weapons. Sometimes you need a special item to continue leveling you weapons. I have to be honest that this isn’t one of my favorite aspects of the game – with the new system it seems to make you choose one weapon and stick with it – I preferred to constantly change weapons as I leveled up.
Having said that, you can get pretty powerful weapons this way. It seems the best thing to do is stick with a weapon until it is at its max, and then in lessor battles use different weapons - eventually you'll have several maxed weapons.
An explanation of the indivual roles that can be assigned to a Paradigm in Final Fantasy XIII:
Commando
These are your warriors; they do the most damage and use mostly physical attacks. They don’t books the gauge of most enemies, but stabilize it giving you time to charge your ATB meter. The commando is a great ‘staple’ character to have in your party – but be careful not to have more than one as the AI will get confused and target different enemies – I tend to try and concentrate on one enemy at a time to reduce the number of enemies quickly.
Ravager
Ravagers are your magic users – the use elemental attacks. They have some pretty powerful attacks and can spike the chain gauge of enemies, however their damage will cause the chain gauge to deplete very quickly.
I tend to use one with a commando for best results.
Medic
As mentioned before I always have some Medic abilities, and it’s probably good to have one or two characters as dedicated Medics. They can dispel status effects and also raise ‘dead’ comrades – this combined with other healing abilities become very important as the game goes one.
Sentinel
The Sentinel is an interesting paradigm; the key use of this is to get the enemies to focus their attacks on the Sentinel so that the rest of the party isn’t damaged or interrupted. Sentinels reduce the damage they take.
The Sentinel has limited attacking abilities, but using them to divert attacks more than makes up for this.
Saboteur
One element of FF XIII that is very important is the use of status effects on the enemies. Use of abilities such as slow are very important in this game especially when facing large numbers of enemies. The Death spell is one of the most deadly attacks in the game, and a powerful Saboteur becomes very important in some of the latter encounters.
Synergist
The synergist is similar to the saboteur, but instead casts beneficial spells on your own party. I didn’t particularly like this character though and it seemed to work better to slow the enemy down than add boost to my own party. I am sure there are times when they will be key, but they are probably only for one-off battles.

Battle Strategies

  • Always have a Ravager and a Commando – the two complement each other;
  • Use the AI – it’s far better than most games I’ve seen – you can macro manage and do everything manually if you want, but the AI generally heals when required and always seems to attack logically.
  • Scan – I never used this in previous games, but you really need to find the weaknesses of each enemy – this also helps the AI figure out what the weakness of the enemy is and the AI will use this information.
  • Stagger enemies – focus on one enemy, stagger it and kill it.
  • Know the Paradigms; also know when and how long it takes to switch as it does take time and it can be tactically important.
  • Use the Sentinel – this is one of the more important roles as it allows you to divert ‘killing’ shots that would normally lay a member of the party out; a strong sentinel can distract this attack and give your party time to cast defensive spells.
  • Don’t forget about the Synergist and Saboteur – the status attack is very important, and occasionally adding boosts to your own party becomes very important. Unlike other FF games, you sometimes cannot complete battles without their assistance.
  • Forget about the Eidolons until later in the game – they really don’t do much more than your character can do.

Full Review

Final Fantasy XIII takes a slightly different approach than recent FF games; although Ligthing is the primary character, you end up jumping between different six different characters and thus have a multi-story going on.  Some will find this approach annoying, but with the use of decent flashbacks, it’s not too bad and game play isn’t too badly effected.
The plot in FF XIII is probably one of the best I’ve encountered; it switches between two worlds but also explore the dynamic between the humans and the fal’Cie; the characters and mythologies in the game are extremely well done and the whole seems to work very well, tying in the multi-story aspect of the game very well.
One thing I’ve always complained about in FF is the battle systems, it’s changed more times than I’ve had hot dinners. FFF XIII is no different, with a pretty complex system. I’m not going to go into a detailed explanation as there are many sites that will explore this, but there are a few elements that impressed me:
  • A gauge fills with ‘segments’ during combat – each action takes a certain amount of segments, so with decent planning you can end up doing a lot more action.
  • There is an attack queue system, thus allowing you to create a strategy and not have to implement it step by step.
I’ll discuss other aspects of the game and system in other sections on this site.
The game features the expected high standard of graphics and the sound quality is pretty incredible at times, with some of the best voice acting I’ve come across. What really makes this game better than many other FF titles is the way the battle system adds to the tension and pace of the game.
One aspect of the game that many will not like is that initially the game is very linear – this has been a problem with much of FF in the past, but I really was hoping for a far more open ended game – it’s not a major problem as the plot is decent, but it just doesn’t give you much scope to explore. I have been told that it opens up a lot later on in the game, but I would have liked to have seen the whole game like that.
Overall FF XIII is a very good RPG; it is fast spaced, difficult at times and for those who like to delve into characters has a very complicated battle and leveling system. It has a great story and some decent characters – it obviously has the best graphics for a FF game and it’s worth buying just to see the amazing detail in the game.
It’s probably aimed more at a mass market than the traditional FF fan, so it may disappoint a few, but overall it is enjoyable.
